Minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins

Our advanced techniques involve sealing off the problematic veins, utilizing methods such as radiofrequency ablation, which heats the vein from within, or foam sclerotherapy, a chemical approach. Both procedures are minimally invasive, requiring only a needle insertion, resulting in virtually no scarring. For the management of remaining surface veins, we can remove them through tiny incisions or continue with foam sclerotherapy. Depending on the severity and number of veins, these additional treatments may be performed simultaneously or scheduled for a later date. Your surgeon will thoroughly discuss your treatment plan with you during your initial consultation, ensuring you feel informed and comfortable every step of the way.

Radiofrequency ablation

This operation used to treat the main cause of the varicose veins. The procedure involves inserting a thin, flexible catheter inside the vein and sealing it off from the inside using a radiofrequency current. This is usually done as a day under local anaesthetic.

Foam Sclerotherapy

This is suitable for tortuous superficial varicose veins, and can be used in combination with other treatments to achieve the best results for you. Using ultrasound-guidance, the foam sclerotherapy agent is injected into the veins to seal them off. This treatment is usually done in the clinic setting.

Microsclerotherapy

Microsclerotherapy is used to treat small thread veins (spider veins). The solution is injected into the veins using tiny needles. This is usually done in the clinic setting.
